The Sun...

If we are to find true freedom our lives must deeply respect the entirety of our lived experience, including that which our contemporary culture so readily denies - the upper world of Sun and Spirit.

As we dig deep into the Soil to find our own unique gifts and stories, we must also keep the

Sun in view so that we do not lose our way.  The Sun provides awareness and clarity, so the more we inhabit this part of ourselves the deeper we may explore the Mystery that is life.

Part of our work in the coming years is to integrate the disassociated brilliance of our modern culture with the light giving sun of Spirit.  It is far too easy to forget Rumi's guest house in our attempts to distance ourselves from the chaos and confusion of our times.

Our goal is one of verition (being-in-beauty), whereby we render the entirety of our lived experience transparent and whole.  For this we cannot rely completely on the Soil and the Earth...  we need the brilliant light of the Sun.

This is the Integral-Integrating part of our Gardening.

The Freedom to Inhabit our Great Story...

In keeping with the tradition of the Sun, it is for each of us to bring our awareness to the Great Story of our times.  This great story is one of integration, where philosophy and science are embodied and expressed as lived experiences rather than new systems.  It tells of a world of relational and contemplative spiritualities that are home alongside feminine and masculine spiritualities.  It speaks of honoring and respecting the body and the family, but not at the expense of the individuality of Spirit expressing awe and wonder.

It is a story of humans becoming custodians and gardeners of the Earth, aware of and in service to the evolutionary impulse that brought us here.  It the the Great Story of our times, and many people have done their parts to tell us of its coming.  It is each of our roles to listen closely so that we might be able to live our own unique contributions to this unfolding drama.

My own contribution is to explore the depths of my being in relation to the work of the various authors and teachers that I am personally drawn to, so as to continue to shine the light of day on what at times seems to be an insurmountable amount of pain and chaos in our contemporary world.

It is my own work to prepare the Soil that we may grow living houses...

"Living Houses" act as both a metaphor and a future reality that draws me forward providing me with the courage to dive ever more deeply into the sea of Life.

I have included some of my own influences (both teachers and authors) to the right, and you can find out more about what I am doing by attending talks, workshops, and classes I am collaborating on around the Bay Area.
