True freedom is found where we are... in the body, on the Earth, with our souls. We have lost contact with place and the very essence of Life. When working with individuals, this is primarily where our Gardening begins. We start to remember ourselves, and in the process begin to build relationship with the world around us, both human and more-than-human.
Zayin's work (which he likes to think of as Gardening) relies upon various modalities to connect individuals to their bodies, to the Earth, and to their souls.
Holistic Integration & Sexuality...
Often overlooked or suppressed in our contemporary culture, Holistic Integration & Sexuality uses the simple presence of touch to help individuals access the full potential of their vital primary energy.
Clients are led through Interactive Embodied Meditations which are used to explore how this energy of the Soil can be creatively expressed and integrated at all levels of their being.
The work is designed not only to teach clients how to express this energy as a creative force in their every day lives, but also as a bridge to the deepest dimension of their reality... the the lower world, Life itself, the Soil.

Indigenous Wisdom and Shamanism...
Every single one of us has indigenous roots that need to be nurtured. We must reconnect with the Earth it's diversity of life. We must also reconnect with our ancestors and our stories. We must connect with the Soil that sustains us. Part of our work at the beginning of our new Story is to re-establish these connections.
This is done in a variety a ways, drawing on the work of Michael Harner , the wisdom of Malidoma Patrice Some and Martin Prechtel, and primarily through sitting in lodge, taking walks, and drinking coffee with various elders local to the Bay Area.

Rites of Passage and Inner Gardening...
Zayin leads rites of passage for an organization in the Bay Area called Stepping Stones. Much of this work is based on the work of Bill Plotkin and various other people in this field. Zayin's Gardening attempts to incorporate the wisdom of rites of passage and Plotkin's "Soul Craft" in everything it does.
Gardening points to the Soil, to the need to dig long and hard into the Mystery, to the need to get our hands dirty in order to accomplish the beautiful and hard task of becoming initiated adults and elders. This part of the work is about connecting to our souls purpose, it is about connecting and building relationship with the more-than-human.
Rites of passage and soul initiation are some of the most important and necessary work we have to do in order to further the Great Story of our times. We need healthy children, adults, and elders, and everything in between.
